Wood Horn Mining Museum was a wide varying contract with all the aspects one would expect from adapting existing coalmine buildings plus the addition of sculptured buildings containing the Archives of all Durham and Northumberland.
Halcyon had the task of completely fitting out the new and existing buildings including the famous Banner Ramp which boasts the Northumberland colliery banner display
Halcyon Drylining installed specialist walls and acoustic ceilings to the banner ramp area incorporating sectional completion to allow access of other trades.
The also famous redwalls which consisted of special timber panels painted with an intumescent paint fitted onto timber backgrounds using a retaining aluminium channel, this system was designed and panels manufactured by Halcyon in their own workshop.
