The works commenced in May 2010 with the installation of steel framing and we worked closely with the main contractor Miller Construction. The steel framing consists of the installation of Metsec to the external envelope.
Our experienced site team saw a flawless installation. Following the installation of steel framing Halcyon also installed the render, drylining and joinery resulting in being one of the biggest sub-contractors on the college. The experience and diverse knowledge of the Halcyon divisions was demonstrated in the close corporation and expert communication not only to one another but with Miller Construction to prove Halcyons true unblemished performance from start to finish.
With the college being a local development, Halcyon has encouraged and taken on a number of new local workers from the community. Alongside this Halcyon has also integrated a friendship with Hartlepool College took on two trainee students, commencing placement within Halcyon Joinery in May 2010. Their improving development within the experienced joinery team saw a permanent apprenticeship in November.
