Halcyon "BuildingConfidence" Accredited - Dec 2011
Halcyon has successfully achieved the BuildingConfidence accreditation having completed the online pre-qualification questionnaire and subject to a two day on-site audit.
The accreditation gives Halcyons customers confidence that the company are using a fair, open and transparent process for contractor selection.
- Demonstrate our commitment and capability to meet the new standards
- That Halcyon has a cost-effective review of your management systems
- Ensures Halcyon meets the needs of the BuildingConfidence members and the wider construction industry
- Work with the BuildingConfidence members and Achilles to identify areas of improvement.
The accreditation process helps:
- Create deeper and more sustainable supply relationships in the future
- Ensure work is only awarded to the highest performing and most suitable contractors
- Reduce costs and duplication of effort in providing information to multiple customers.
HCFE in for FPDC Awards 2011 - Oct 2011
Hartlepool College of Further Education has been put forward to the FPDC Awards 2011 for categories SFS, Drylining, Joinery and Render. The judging starts in October and results are announced at a later date

Halcyon's Julie Hodgkiss in "Race for Life" - May 2011
Halcyon Building Systems Ltd have provided full support to Julie Hodgkiss in the Race For Life event to help raise over £300 for cancer research. The event was covered by the GazzetteLive.co.uk
Halcyon has become a finalist in the Apprenticeship Awards 2011 - April / May 2011
Due to the large volume of entries Halcyon remain a Finalist and will be added to the Roll of Honour situated at www.apprenticeships.org.uk. The Roll of Honour showcases businesses that are proud of their involvement in Apprenticeships and excellent role models for other organisations.
Halcyon has again achieved accreditation in both ISO Quality Management System 19001:2008 and ISO Health and Safety 18001:2007 - April 2011

Halcyon Shortlisted in the FPDC Plasterers’ Awards 2010 for Steel Framed Systems - January 2011
Halcyon resulted in being shortlisted in the FPDC Plasterers’ Awards 2010 for Steel Framed Systems. The 3 projects categorised:
- East Durham College, Peterlee – 2nd
- Blyth Beach Chalets, Northumberland – 3rd
- Orchard Park, Leeds – 4th
FPDC Plasterers' Awards 2010 - September 2010
Halcyon Building Systems Ltd has entered into the FPDC Plasterers' Awards 2010 for Steel Framed Systems for their successful contracts Orchard Park Health Centre, Hull, Beach Chalets, Northumberland and East Durham College, Peterlee.
The Judging period is due to start in August through to October 2010. Winners are due to be announced in February 2011.
The Award Categories 2010 are:
- Fibrous & GRG (Heritage and New Build)
- Plastering (Internal and External)
- Screeding
- Drylining (Residential, Commercial contract under £1M and contract over £1M)
- Steel Framed Systems
- Technical Ceilings
National Federation of Builders - July 2010
Halcyon has become a member of the National Federation of Builders.
Construction Line Registration - June 2010
Halcyon has just been assigned a registration number for Construction Line - 86497.
Hartlepool College of Further Education, contractor Miller Construction commences - May 2010
This contract comprises of the combination between Halcyon SFS £650k, Halcyon Joinery £1.5m, Halcyon Drylining £1.3m and Halcyon Rend-Tech £500k.

Halcyon has been granted Construction Line Approval.
Halcyon is pleased to confirm accreditation in Quality Management - March 2010
Halcyon is pleased to confirm accreditation in Quality Management Standard ISO 9001:2008 and Health & Safety Management Standard OHAS 18001:2008.
From this Halcyon will be working towards achieving ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard on completion of the new office development.
New Office Development - February 2010
New office development has begun at Trimdon Grange Industrial Estate to house the ever expanding divisions of Halcyon. The design is to incorporate a high quality modern building with an external Swedish theme with a large glazed entrance, terracotta tiles, subtle lighting and large spacious rooms. The whole process will see all Halcyon’s divisions working together as the group to develop the building with a seamless process from start to finish.
This development will not only accommodate Halcyon but welcome and introduce visitors to the new development to be named Halcyon Grange. Halcyon is expected to be accommodated in early 2011.
Gold Star for Green Building
Halcyon Drylining & Joinery incorporating plaster work completed Sunderland University sports and social centre. 4 months due to completion work British Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (Breeam) (Gold Standard) named it one of the UK's greenest buildings. This was reported in the Sunderland Echo.
