Halcyon Building Systems Limited were first approached by Ian Darby Partnership in Jan 09 with regard to this project to help instigate the design and off site manufacture this was to overcome the original traditional build of block work which could not be achieved in the demanding time frame the client had given the main contractor.
The suggestion of Metsec framing for walls and roof and then clad in Cedar and painted softwood came from the experience Halcyon has had over years with a number of off site building manufacture.
Our workshop facility adapted very easily to sectional production which allowed the in-situ concrete slab and services be installed while the chalets were in fabrication.
The sections were delivered to site and erected and secured on a daily basis, erecting 4 chalets per day, achieving the tight build programme comfortably.
The beach chalets attracted great attention from the public along with the client and architects extreme satisfaction, a successful project in every aspect.
